Day 44 July 13 97km 705M vertical 12°C Cold rain SW wind

White River to Wawa
We had a cold, wet and miserable day, but not all at the same time. It was raining heavily this morning so we had a leisurely breakfast and departed White River at11:15. The rain was lighter but the wind was in our face as we headed straight south so we had a wet journey for the first third of our day. Suddenly the rain stopped, the road dried up, and the wind shifted to our back. We made the most of the tail wind and cruised along at 29 kph for the next third of our day. The sun peaked out briefly, just to tease us, and then the temperature dropped to 12°C , the wind turned to face us and the sun disappeared. Our cruising speed dropped to 19kph. The last third of the day was drudgery fighting the cold south winds. We pedalled into Wawa and immediately found the Tim Horton’s for hot tea and cinnamon buns.

Hey guys,
You are doing great. The pictures are beautiful. Beverley and I look forward to seeing similar scenery as we drive in the opposite direction this September. I am very impressed by your daily kilometre count. I hope to do 50 km tomorrow morning, but that's about it.
Have you decided on your route for eastern Ontario/western Quebec? Check out the PPJ Cyclopath, which runs from Waltham, QC down to the little town of Wyman, which is west of Alymer, QC. Google it and you will find a map and descriptions. I have ridden it twice, and it's quite neat, but flat of course.
Keep up the wonderful work and stay safe!
Best wishes,
Norm Horner

good day to you both! It's quite the climb up to that goose heading into Wawa. I get tired just driving those hills from Nipigon and on never mind riding up and down them. Kudos to you!
I rode to the corner store today, eleveation 1m with a head wind on the way there and uphill. Phew. Came home, 14 houses away and had a beer. I thought I deserved it!
May you days be full of tail winds and a comfy seat at the end of the day.

Hi Cousin Tim and European Tim! Wow..nice picture of the goose..haven't seen that one in a really long time. Frank and I played 18 holes today and we also went up and down hills. Cousin Lee is in from Selkirk; what timing eh? Mom and Don are following your progress as well as the rest of the famille. Take care, be safe ...and you are now seriously getting out of range of turning around and heading back this way! Love, Cousin Sharron (Frank too)

Happy Birthday Tim
I know you hadn't planned on a day off today so hope that Tim B's condition improves enough to be able to at least celebrate with you.
Did I say last night that Uschi and Horst send birthday greetings?
I'm counting the days now until I come over and am looking forward to seeing you in about 2 weeks.
Lots of love

Tim and Tim, can it be 44 days ?
Belated birthday wishes and sorry to hear Tim B has re-injured his back likely a fall back to a nite In Tsawwassen involving a 4 x 4 truck, gallons of lager and ale and some calimari.
Enjoy reading about the journey especially since I am not sitting on a bike seat.
God speed and stay safe. Bob
