Sept. 19th: Canyon Village to Mammoth Hot springs 59km 499m

Norris Geyser  Basin
Tim G’s shoulder injury seems to have recovered after last night’s cure. On our last day in the park we rode to Mammoth Hot Springs via Norris. We stopped to look at the Norris Geyser Basin, but it paled in comparison to the Old Faithful area. When we resumed the journey we were heading north beside the Gardiner River, with a tailwind. It was the gentlest 30km we rode all week. Unfortunately we were going so fast we broke the speed limit and when we stopped at Mammoth Hot Springs we received a lecture from a ranger about obeying the traffic rules. We agreed to comply.

Good Monday Morning:

Back to the office and thoroughly enjoying my first coffee while scanning your blog. Isn't Yellowstone amazing!! Gosh Tim G. was so lucky. I remember my travels exiting the east side in our RV van. The roads were narrow, no guardrails and the rock formations were as high as they were decending on either side of the roadways. If one ever went over the edge you'd be history and no one would ever know is how I felt. But the geysers and landscapes are so memorable. Photos do it justice but it's the up front and personal experience that is awesome.

Travel safe as you apparently are coming to the end of yet another amzing biking tour. Where are you off to next!!

oh man Timmiboy, isn das fürn Arsch gewesen? Konny Reimann?

Wolfgang

Well, it was a bit of a shock to read about your bump on the shoulder Tim - good job it wasn't more severe and I hope it really is OK now.
Hope you have a good journey back to Montreal.
Love
Jean
